a * next to the title of a song indicates that this was the first live performance of the song.

July 16, 2002: Plattsmouth, Nebraska (Plattsmouth City Library)
This was our first performance as NBC. We were there to help benefit and promote the opening of the new Alcazar Performing Arts Center in Plattsmouth. This performance was part of a conference to sample some of the new performances and talent that would be coming through Plattsmouth to perform at the new Performing Arts Theatre.
This turned out to be a much more important show than we were expecting. After our performance, we were asked to be one of the main groups promoted and sponsored by the Alcazer Performing Arts Theatre. After the performance, we were invited back to do another promotional performance in September. On top of that, we were also invited back to do a full-length show (our OWN concert) sometime in October! YAY! This is HUGE for us! We will pass on more details of this upcoming concert as they are made available to us. As of now, it is still in the beginning stages.
Being that we were performing in front of a small group tonight, we sang off-mic. We were also minus Drew Hoffman (due to vacation). All in all, this was a good first performance, which gained us some exposure and many more things to come in the future.
Setlist
* NBC Intro (Nate on lead) * Should I Really Know Now (Luke on lead) * In the Still of the Night (Justin on lead) * Show Me The Way (Nate on lead) * Good Ol' Acappella (Luke on lead)

October 7, 2002: Lincoln, Nebraska (Kimball Recital Hall)
Tonight's performance was a big one as far as our exposure was concerned. We were asked my Dr. Ecklund, a vocal music professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, to help promote the Mens Choral Festival by performing as a part of the show.
Basically, we were there to open the show for the UNL Mens Varsity Chorus. We were very excited about this performance, being that we were to draw a large crowd without having to make much effort in promoting the event. There were two Nebraska high school choirs, then us, and then the UNL Mens Varsity Chorus.
This was our first official performance as NBC, being that all 6 members were present. We were given the opportunity to perform in a large auditorium with a large audience (probably around 400-500 people). It turned out to be an important experience for us, in order to get us ready for our big shows coming up in November.
Setlist:
Good Ol' Acapella NBC Intro * Reluctant (Zakk on lead) * My Home (Drew, Justin, Luke on lead) * Only You (Nate on lead)

Saturday, October 26, 2002: Plattsmouth, NE (Plattsmouth Lions Club Annual Dinner)
For this performance, NBC was asked to perform about 10 minutes of music. The Lions Club only wanted a short amount of time for entertainment. But, were happy to get any amount of performance time. This served as an introduction of NBC to Plattsmouth, being that the group would be performing a two-night concert series the next weekend in Plattsmouth.
Setlist:
My Home * My Girl (Nate on lead) Good Ol' Acapella

Friday, November 8, 2002: Plattsmouth, NE (Alcazar Theatre)
This was NBCs first full-length concert. It also marked the first ever concert performance in the newly restored Alcazar Theatre in conjunction with the Plattsmouth Center for the Performing Arts. We were asked by Mark and Teresa Ferrill to put on a show for the town of Plattsmouth and surrounding areas.
The concert was slated for 17 songs divided between 2 sets, along with a 2 song encore performance. The show went great! We were a little tentative during our first set, being that WE were the reason that people were there that night. It was OUR concert, which made us a little nervous. We came out and opened the second set with a little acapella gangsta rap with our rendition of Regulators. This got us and the audience a lot more energized. The rest of the show was a breeze.
The encore turned out great. It started with Adam telling his story about being discovered by Lou Perlman, and hitting puberty at the age of 4 ½. The crowd loved this, and then Adam went on to sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight completely in falsetto. We finished the show with the National Anthem.
Overall, this was a great performance for us. We received a lot of good feedback, and it really made a difference for our performance the next night.
Setlist:
1st Set NBC Intro * Glory Bound (Zakk on lead) * Understated Girl (Justin on lead) * Fly Like An Eagle (Luke on lead) My Girl (Cheryl) * It Feels Good (Justin, Luke on lead) Only You * Dont Tell Me (Luke on lead) * Your Body is a Wonderland (Justin on lead)
2nd Set * Regulators (Justin, Nate on lead) Reluctant (Zakk on lead) Should I Really Know Now * Horizon (Justin on lead) * Use Me (Luke on lead) My Home Show Me The Way Good Ol' Acappella
Encore * The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Adam on lead) * Star-Spangled Banner (Nate on lead)

Saturday, November 9, 2002: Plattsmouth, NE (Alcazar Theatre)
This was our second full concert in two days at the Alcazar Theatre in Plattsmouth, NE. We had a good first night, but a GREAT second night. We had a lot bigger audience the second night. We noticed quite a few people there for the second night that were also there during the first night, which is obviously a good sign. Oh, one side note, Luke lost his voice overnight. Yeah, NO JOKE! So, during the day, Luke and Drew decided to changed voice parts for this show. Luke switched to Vocal Percussion, and Drew learned 10 songs in one afternoon while driving from Lincoln to Plattsmouth. Props to Drew for his quick learning, he saved the show! Nate and Justin also took over a few of Lukes lead songs, and Zakk switched around on a few songs to make this whole thing work. Adam just sang bass, because we cant.
We ended up selling about 42 CDs during the weekend, and we had a lot of good feedback. This turned out to be a great weekend. We were tentatively booked by a gentleman in the performing arts circuit to do a concert next summer in front of a crowd of between 800 and 1000 people. That should be fun!
Setlist:
1st Set NBC Intro Glory Bound Understated Girl Fly Like An Eagle (Lead - Justin) My Girl (MaryAnn) It Feels Good (Lead - Justin) Dont Tell Me (Lead - Justin) Your Body is a Wonderland

Friday, November 22, 2002: Lincoln, NE (Haymarket Theatre)
This concert was supposed to be a benefit for the Haymarket Theatre. We had a pretty good turnout, given the fact that we were only given one week to promote the show. All of the proceeds for this concert went to benefit the theatre, so it was a good cause. We appeared on KRNU that morning with Rick Alloways acapella radio show, so that helped promote things. We were finally able to do an entire show with everybody feeling healthy, unlike the previous Plattsmouth concerts.
Setlist:
1st Set NBC Intro Glory Bound Understated Girl Fly Like An Eagle My Girl (Amanda) It Feels Good Only You Dont Tell Me

Saturday, November 23, 2002: Kearney, NE (Nebraska State Lions Club Convention)
This turned out to be a very important show for us. Apparently, we were one of two groups performing that night, but the other group cancelled, so we got the entire time slot (and the entire entertainment fund). We ended up doing 12 songs, all of which we felt were appropriate for this audience. They were a very fun audience to perform for. We really hope to be asked back by the Lions Club, as we have many ties with the different Lions Club Chapters throughout Nebraska. We sold quite a few CDs that night, and had a lot of fun with the crowd. We thank the Nebraska Lions Club for their patronage and support! Heres the setlist from that show:

Saturday, November 30, 2002: Plattsmouth, NE (Town Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony)
This performance gave us an opportunity to get another performance in, and also forced us to learn a few Christmas songs in a very short amount of time. We did not take our sound equipment with us, so we sang everything off-mic.
Setlist:
* What Child is This? (Justin on lead) * Silent Night (all on lead) * The First Noel (Nate on lead) * I'll Be Home For Christmas (Zakk on lead)

Friday, December 6, 2002: Lincoln, NE (7th Street Loft)
This was our second big concert in Lincoln in two weeks. We were really excited for this performance, and we put a lot of effort into the preparation for this one. We extended our show and ended up singing about 22 songs by adding in a few Christmas tunes. We figured that this would be our last performance for a month or two, so that we could have time to work on new material and develop some new ideas into realities. We had a good turnout, sold some CDs, and had a blast while performing! This was a FUN show!
Setlist:
1st Set NBC Intro Glory Bound Understated Girl What Child Is This? Fly Like An Eagle My Girl (Britney) It Feels Good Silent Night Only You Dont Tell Me Your Body is a Wonderland

Monday, January 27, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Haymarket Theatre)
This performance marked the first performance for No Better Cause (NBC) in the year of 2003. Yes, NBC has decided to take the name of "No Better Cause", so as not to get sued by the TV network. No Better Cause is now the official name of the group.
The event for the night was a fundraiser for the Lincoln Southeast High School choral music department, namely, Court Choir. The event was held to help raise money for the Court Choir students to be able to take a trip to Boston to perform later in the year. NBC was asked to perform at this event because we were all part of this choir and were all involved with the choral music department while attending LSE.
There were many great performances throughout the evening. No Better Cause opened the show by singing six songs. After following some wonderful acts, NBC returned to the stage to perform two more songs before Court Choir closed out the evening. We had a wonderful time seeing the students and our former director, Joey Hartman.
Setlist:

Friday, January 31, 2003: Plattsmouth, NE (Plattsmouth Community Playhouse)
Tonight marked the return to Plattsmouth for No Better Cause. Plattsmouth is home to the first ever full-length concert brought to you by No Better Cause. We definitely looked forward to this weekend. NBC performed to a decent crowd made up of the Plattsmouth faithful, as well as many people who made the 45-minute trip from Lincoln and surrounding areas. The group came out with a fresh setlist, complete with 6 new songs, including 4 new originals.
The staff at the Playhouse made this a memorable performance by painting an entire backdrop and stage for No Better Cause. We really appreciated this. It looked great!
Setlist:

Saturday, February 1, 2003: Plattsmouth, NE (Plattsmouth Community Playhouse)
Tonight was the second night of our two concert series in Plattsmouth. There was a decent size crowd, but it was a great crowd to perform to. Everyone seemed to be into it and very lively. A lot of people showed up from Conestoga High School, a place where NBC performed the previous day. People also made the trip from Lincoln, Nebraska City, and even Auburn! We had a great time performing tonight, and we felt like it was one of our better shows.
On a side note, which I forgot to mention in yesterdays diary entry...Scott Hoelscher, the manager of No Better Cause, was lucky enough to have his car towed on Friday while being in Plattsmouth. We'd really like to thank the Cass County Sheriffs department for giving us the run-around yesterday, you were a big help in making our visit so pleasant. In case you can't tell, that was a sacarstic statement. Everyone else in the Plattsmouth Community was awesome to us. But, Cass County Sheriff, you put a damper on things. Thanks.
Sorry about that, I had to get that out. If you ever go to Plattsmouth, DO NOT park on the street in residential zones, or your car will be towed.

Monday, February 17, 2003: Lincoln, NE (7th Street Loft)
Tonight we performed a "Post-Valentine's Concert" at the 7th Street Loft, a fantastic performance space. Energy was low, but we all felt confident about our performances. Hey, it was a Monday. We were trying something different. This was a full and robust set, and we pulled out most everything we had in our bag of tricks, including Sam Cooke's version of "Wonderful World," with a wonderful arrangement from Nate. Overall, a great time. Later this evening, we got the news about our invite to the Harmony Sweepstakes in Denver.
Setlist:

March 8, 2003: Lincoln, Nebraska (Pla-Mor Ballroom) Tonight, No Better Cause joined another band called "One More Time" in performance. One More Time was the headliner, and No Better Cause sang a few songs during the time the One More time took breaks. It was a very positive experience for us. The atmosphere for tonight's show was for a dance. We have never performed for a dance audience, but we felt like we were very well received. One More Time did an awesome job, as always. A special thanks goes out to One More Time for giving us the opportunity to perform with them and being able to be introduced to their audience. Tonight was definitely an enjoyable experience. Here's the setlist:

Tonight's show marked the first time for No Better Cause to perform in a contest, the Harmony Sweepstakes. This is a very big performance for any group that gets the opportunity to compete. For many groups, the Harmony Sweepstakes serves as the kickstart for their professional careers. This year's competition was a fun one, but tough. We came out ready and energized, and may have performed our best 15 minutes of our lives. The crowd was energized, and the atmosphere was intense. We took home third place in the overall competition, but felt that the top three groups could've been switched around at any time. All three of the groups performed well, and put on a great show, and it took the judges a long time to deliberate and come to a conclusion and pick this year's winner. The other two groups (Groove Society and Face) and No Better Cause were all very worthy of being this year's champion, but someone had to be left out, and it was us. No Better Cause, however, was the only group performing this year which was not from the Denver area, so we felt pretty good about that. We also took home the award for "Best Original Song", which is a huge honor for the group, since we pride ourselves on songwriting. We were very happy with the experience, and we were able to make some connections and meet a lot of very cool people. Here's our setlist:
Setlist:
Get Ready The Run Regulators -- Friday, March 28, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Joyo Theatre) Tonight, No Better Cause opened for a hip-hop/R&B duo by the name of E.W. (Evans & Watson), who is signed with Tremulant Records. This was an entirely new audience for No Better Cause, as we ventured into a show with a very talented hip-hop group. Other artists performing tonight were Eric Medley, the mastermind behind Tremulant records, as well as a female rapper from Omaha by the name of Miraj (pronounced as Mirage). All of the perfomers for the night did an excellent job, and the atmosphere was great. Be on the look out, as No Better Cause and E.W. will probably perform together again sometime down the road. Here's the setlist:

Star-Spangled Banner Get Ready The Run Change In My Life My Girl Understated Girl Still The One -- Friday, April 11, 2003: Plattsmouth, NE (Plattsmouth Community Playhouse) Tonight marked No Better Cause's return to Plattsmouth. This was the same place that NBC performed its first full-lengthed concert. Plattsmouth is always a fun place to perform, and we always enjoy the time that we are there. For tonight's show, we did not have a terribly big audience, but there were a lot of people who had not yet seen No Better Cause perform. Here's the setlist:

Encore Lion Sleeps Tonight Wonderful World * Peace Be Still (Nate on lead) Star-Spangled Banner -- Thursday, April 17, 2003: Lincoln, NE (The Grand Room) What an incredible evening!!! Tonight, the city of Lincoln was treated to some of the most incredible vocal music ever created. The world renowned vocal group, Five O'Clock Shadow, decided to stop in Lincoln and do a show with us, No Better Cause. The evening started out with No Better Cause (Nate, Adam, Luke, Justin, Zakk) performing about 45 minutes worth of music, and was then concluded by about 70 minutes worth of incredible music from Five O'Clock Shadow. This concert was booked and promoted starting about two days before it took place. We received word from Rick Alloway at KRNU that FOCS was passing through Lincoln and wanted to do a show while they were here. So, we got on the phone right away and starting contacting different venues to see if we could put something together. After many negative responses, we finally came across the Grand Room, and booked the hall for a show. We, NBC, were both starstruck and humbled. FOCS is an ICON group in the field of music in which we mingle. They put on a great show, and the whole night came together perfectly! Special thanks goes out to Rick Alloway, Mark Poole, Bev Kellison, Barry Franzen, and the rest of the Libations/Grand Room staff for helping us out on such short notice. An even bigger thanks goes out to all of you sitting in the audience who made this night a huge success. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! No Better Cause had the opportunity to go out for drinks and wings with the guys of Five O'Clock Shadow (Oren, Mike, Paul, Stack, Dan, and soundman Andrew) after the show. We also sat in during their radio appearance the next morning, and concluded their visit by taking them to the mother of all diners for breakfast, the HIWAY DINER! Yee haw! While we were out with these guys, we were able to ask questions and receive pointers on what it takes to do what they do and what we WANT to eventually be doing. The whole experience was something that we will never forget, and we have all of YOU to thank for it! Thanks again to the people mentioned earlier, and THANK YOU, Five O'Clock Shadow! Thanks for making your first ever appearance in Lincoln. Thanks for taking the time to answer the many questions that we had (and will continue to have). Most of all, THANK YOU for being so damn cool! You are our heroes! We will do whatever it takes to bring you back to the state of NeBRAska (you'd get it if you were at the show). Here's our setlist:
Setlist Star-Spangled Banner NBC Intro Unknown Rebel Holy Love My Girl (Heather) Show Me The Way They Say Fly Like An Eagle Understated Girl Wonderful World Still The One-- Friday, April 25, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Kahoa Elementary School) Today, No Better Cause was brought in to do about an hour performance to send the little kiddies into the weekend. We performed a few songs, and did our best to keep the kids entertained, which is not always an easy task. But, we had a blast doing it! Here's the setlist:
Setlist Good Ol' Acappella Get Ready Fly Like An Eagle My Girl (Sarah) Understated Girl Only You Show Me The Way Lion Sleeps Tonight Still The One Wonderful World Star-Spangled Banner-- Friday, April 25, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Children's Museum--"The Big Wild Event"; a benefit for Katherine Wild) Tonight's show was to serve as a benefit for Katherine Wild of Lincoln East High School who is in need of a kidney transplant. It was a wonderful evening with a lot of fun faces, and the whole night was for a great cause. We were glad to help out! Tonight also served as Drew Hoffman's last official show as a part of No Better Cause. Drew will be moving to California in the fall/winter for schooling, and now was the best time to bring someone else in to audition for the job, since we won't be performing for a few months. It was a bitter/sweet kind of show, but fun as always! Here's the setlist:
Setlist Star-Spangled Banner Get Ready Fly Like An Eagle My Girl (Katherine Wild) They Say The Run Show Me The Way Still The One Lion Sleeps Tonight Regulators-- Sunday, May 4, 2003: Lincoln, NE (University of Nebraska-Lincoln-East Campus Union for "Volunteer Partners") This afternoon, No Better Cause performed during a ceremony honoring members of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Volunteer Partners program. There were many good people at this event who are very involved in volunteering their time to helping others. It was a very humbling experience to be a part of. This also marked No Better Cause's first performance with new member, Zack Bjornsen. Zack held his own and performed well with the group, and seemed to fit in pretty well. No Better Cause also sported their brand new wireless microphones for the first time in public. We had a little feedback on a couple different spots, but it'll be a learning experience until we have those things completely figured out. However, having wireless mics definitely brought the show a little more to life. All in all, it was a good day. Here's the setlist:
Setlist Still The One My Girl Star-Spangled Banner-- Friday, May 23, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Lincoln Southeast High School) This morning, No Better Cause made it's first ever performance at Lincoln Southeast High School, where a majority of the members got together in the first place. NBC was scheduled to put on a 45 minute show for the students of LSE, and things went great! The group now has wireless microphones which really add a lot to the show. This morning's performance was also the first show with NBC's newest member, Zack Bjornsen. A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Joey Hartman, as well as Dr. Hunter-Pirtle. We had a great time, and here is the setlist:

We sang three songs, and even made the local news. Yee haw! Here's the setlist:
Setlist Star-Spangled Banner My Home God Bless The USA-- Friday, June 27, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Lincoln YWCA) Tonight, No Better Cause performed a bit of an odd show. The group was asked to entertain the guests for at a fundraiser for the Lincoln YWCA. The site was set up as a picnic, and everything was outside. There was no real area for a stage, so the boys set up on the corner of the street, with their full shot of sound equipment. The was a little wind, but the loyal NBC fans who have seen us a lot said that the sound was as good as ever, so that was cool. Here's what we did:
Setlist * 8-6-7-5-3-0-9/Jenny (Zack on lead) Unknown Rebel God Bless The USA It Feels Good (Zack on lead) * I'm Yours (Nate on lead) My Girl (Mary) * Africa (Zack on lead) They Say Fly Like An Eagle Show Me The Way Lion Sleeps Tonight Still The One Star-Spangled Banner-- Monday, June 30, 2003: Plattsmouth, NE (Chautauqua) Tonight started out as a show that No Better Cause was not too thrilled about doing. Not to sound like pre-madonnas, but, we were doing a round-trip total of two hours driving, we were only singing for 20 minutes, and we weren't getting paid. It just didn't seem worth our time, when we've got so many other things that we have to continue getting ready for.
As it turned out, this may have been a very important performance for us. We ended up selling a BUNCH of CD's, and making some money to put towards our next album, or whatever other expenses we have. We also made a lot of contacts with people in the Omaha area who are interested in booking us for their company outings and such. So, hopefully, we'll get some more gigs out of that show to write about. Special thanks goes to Terry Little who ended up running our sound tonight. He did an excellent job of mixing and keeping the levels where they are supposed to be. The crowd was great tonight as well! Here's the setlist:
Setlist Fly Like An Eagle 8-6-7-5-3-0-9/Jenny God Bless The USA My Girl (Lindsay) Africa Still The One-- Friday, July 4, 2003: Seward, NE (4th of July Celebration, Seward Bandshell) Tonight, No Better Cause made its first ever appearance in the city of Seward. The group was invited to entertain the many people who head to Seward for the 4th of July. This was easily the hottest performance that No Better Cause has ever been a part of. The show was done outdoors and the temperature was about 95 degrees. Despite the heat, No Better Cause performed its entire show. It is estimated that the group lost a combined total of 50lbs during this performance (mainly sweat). This was also the first time that the group has ever blown out a microphone. Yeah, Justin's mic blew out while he did his vocal percussion. So, after the second set (out of three), we replaced his mic with one of our old wired mics. Oh well...Things were good, and we had a great time. Here's the setlist:
Setlist:
1st Set Fly Like An Eagle Get Ready Unknown Rebel God Bless The USA It Feels Good My Girl (Sarah) 8-6-7-5-3-0-9/Jenny Glory Bound Africa

3rd Set Wonderful World I'm Yours Still The One Lion Sleeps Tonight Show Me The Way Star-Spangled Banner-- Sunday, July 13, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Trinity United Methodist Church) No Better Cause brought it's explosive show to the church services of Trinity United Methodist. The group ended up singing four songs, minus Zack Bjornsen for the morning. The performances went well (two services), and we had a great time. We managed to perform well enough to receive two standing-ovations in a fairly traditional church. The audience received us very well, and we had a great time. The acoustics in this church were very good as well. I'm sure we'll go back to Trinity sometime in the future. Here's what we sang (twice):
Setlist Criminal On The Cross Peace Be Still Light The Fire Change In My Life-- Tuesday, July 15, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Memorial Stadium--Stadium View Lounge, Red Cross Recognition Dinner) Tonight, No Better Cause performed for the Red Cross Recogniton Dinner. We did five songs, including our debut of "Stand By Me", arranged by Nate, and sang beautifully by Zack. From the start, it looked like it would be a tough audience to please. But, after our rendition of "My Girl", the crowd seemed to receive us very well. Here's what we sang:
Setlist My Girl (Monica) * Stand By Me (Zack on lead) Still The One God Bless The USA Wonderful World-- Sunday, July 20, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Kimball Recital Hall, University of Nebraska Show Choir Camp) Tonight, No Better Cause put on a 40 minute program for the students involved with the University of Nebraska's high school show choir camp. The audience was made up of about 100 students, plus some music faculty and camp counselors (most likely music majors). It turned out to be a great audience after they got into our stuff. One thing to make note of is that Zakk Wooten was on his deathbed at the time of our performance. Yes, Zakk and his immune system had a very tough weekend, and he was not able to make it to the show. Of course, Zakk was disappointed, and we felt bad for him as well. This is a performance that we've all looked forward to for quite some time, mainly because we were performing at Kimball Hall. Oh well, it happens, and we made it through. The sound was excellent, and all of us sang and performed well. This performance also marked the first performance where pictures were taken which actually include Zack Bjornsen. So now, the world of NBC fans who check the website, will be able to see the face behind the bio of the mighty ZACK BJORNSEN. He has red hair. Here's our setlist:

Setlist My Girl (Kim Roback)-- Friday, August 15, 2003: Lincoln, NE (The Grand Room) After a three week performance hiatus, No Better Cause returned to action in Lincoln, Nebraska at The Grand Room. The atmosphere was outstanding! A very large audience showed up, and the were in to it as well. This was the first "open-to-the-general-public" show that No Better Cause has had in Lincoln since February. A good number of people have seen us before, and seemed to be very impressed with the make-up of the current group, and with the overall huge improvement of the show since the last time that they saw us. They are right. Things have gotten tons better since the arrival of the wireless microphones, new sound system, and a new member. Earlier in the day, No Better Cause took their sound to Rick Alloway's "Vocal Chords" radio show on 90.3 FM KRNU, and sang three songs (867-5309, I'm Yours, and Fly Like An Eagle). Here's the concert setlist:

They took the stage for opening day at the Nebraska State Fair, and the temperature was 103 degrees. Fortunately, the auditorium, though it is outdoors, was covered, so at least we had some shade. There was not a big crowd on hand, most likely due to the heat. But, the people who were there seemed to enjoy it. Here's the setlist:

However, very few students were in the audience. It was a little more of a mature audience, but LOTS of new faces. This was a fun show in an intimate environment. We had a great time! Encore Lion Sleeps Tonight Peace Be Still Stand By Me Star-Spangled Banner-- Friday, August 29, 2003: Lincoln, NE (SouthPointe Pavilions) Tonight, No Better Cause performed in front of it's biggest audience to date, while concluding the summer concert series at SouthPointe Pavilions. Yeah, we were the FINALE concert! Pretty cool, huh...Anyway, there were probably 150 people there at the beginning of the show, but many estimates said that there were probably 600 or so for our second set. VERY EXCITING! On top of that, it as fairly cool out, considering that it's still August. It was a little breezy, which caused a little feedback with our sound system. But, it didn't hurt the show any. We had a great time and look forward to performing there again next summer. Here's the setlist:

Encore Lion Sleeps Tonight Stand By Me Show Me The Way Star-Spangled Banner-- Saturday, August 30, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Nebraska State Fair -- Expo Theatre) We didn't know exactly what to think when we arrived today for our show at the Nebraska State Fair's Expo Theatre. We got in there and discovered a fairly small stage and about 30 seats in front of it. Obviously, we always like to have a little more than 30 people. So, we had this brilliant idea that we'd turn up the speakers a little louder than usual in order to draw a few more people to our show. IT WORKED! We started out with about 20 people there to see us. But, by the time we were halfway through our set, there were probably 150 people around to see it. We were told to turn the speakers down FOUR TIMES. So, we tried to cooperate, but then gave up and just did things our way. I know, it's a little cocky to say that. But, hey, we were there to do a free show, so we figured we'd do it on our terms. No one really had a problem with it, except for a few vendors who were trying to sell some things. Oh well, maybe they were jealous of our attention. We were only there for an hour, so if they had a problem with it, I'm sure they're over it now. Oh, and just to prove that we were liked by most people, Heather Manion, the person who books the entertainment for the STate Fair, asked us to come back and do one more show on Labor Day. So, we'll be performing once again at the Open Air Auditorium on Labor Day (Sept 1st) at 10:30 a.m. Anyway, we DID have a great time at this performance, and the audience was outstanding! Here's the setlist:
Setlist Fly Like An Eagle Get Ready The Unknown Rebel I'm Yours My Girl (Jessica) God Bless The USA Use Me The Run 867-5309 They Say Africa Still The One Show Me The Way Stand By Me Change In My Life Star-Spangled Banner-- Monday, September 1, 2003: Lincoln, NE (Nebraska State Fair -- Open Air Auditorium) This morning, we performed an encore concert at the Nebraska State Fair. We were lucky enough to be asked to do THREE concerts this year for that event. So, that's a compliment in itself. The crowd wasn't especially large this morning, but those were in attendance seemed to really enjoy it. After the concert, we were actually recognized by a few different people who had seen us perform at other venues, so that's cool. Here's our Labor Day setlist at the Nebraska State Fair:

Due to an insane amount of rain, both concerts had to be moved indoors. But, that didn't stop the show any. We had very good and receptive audiences for both shows, and were very happy that we made the trip down there. We hope that the Richardson County Fair can bring us back next year so that we can do the whole thing outdoors. Here's the setlist for both shows:
